The lowest magnification of these binoculars is a very common one—8x. By turning the zoom dial next to the focus wheel, you can adjust the magnification seamlessly up to 16x.
Keeping the binoculars steady at such high magnification is easiest if you use a spotting stick (also known as a Finnstick) or take advantage of the threaded mount, which is compatible with separate binocular adapters. This allows the binoculars to be used with a tripod or monopod.
The glare-shield eyecups can be twisted close to the lens or kept further away—an especially welcome feature for eyeglass wearers.
The Up Zoom performs best in good lighting conditions—for dim environments, it’s better to choose a model with a higher twilight factor.
