Robens Sprinter 2 LW

Robens has truly done their homework: the tunnel tent, lower at one end and equipped with a short vestibule, is a familiar sight in Nordic hiking areas—and for good reason. The structure offers comfortable interior space relative to its weight and provides excellent weather resistance. The Sprinter differs from the most traditional types by having its pole channels in the inner tent instead of the fly.

The manufacturer has tested the tent in a wind tunnel. The Sprinter 2LW withstood an impressive sustained wind speed of 190 km/h (with gusts up to 200 km/h) before sustaining damage. We’re talking full hurricane-force winds! This makes it highly recommended for mountain treks.

The letters LW in the product name stand for Light Weight, distinguishing it from the basic range, but also from UL (ultralight) products—ultralight meaning “too” light, a specialized item suited for specific conditions but not for general use.

The inner tent can be set up separately as mosquito protection, which is especially useful in hot climates. Even when using the outer tent, the doors can be tied to the poles, providing excellent cross-ventilation.

The aluminum pole segments are short, which makes the tent easier to pack—such as into a bicycle pannier.
