Manufacturer’s operating instructions.
When moving on natural ice, always carry equipment that helps you get out of the water if the ice breaks beneath you. NOTE: Never go on natural ice alone.
The plastic protective case contains two ice picks. The GRIP ICE CLAW picks are worn around the neck with a cord, and comes with a whistle.
Always keep the picks in their case when not in use.
Before use: Check that the ice picks are intact and functional. Replace the products after five years of use. After five years, update to a new product.
When using: Place the GRIP ICE CLAW picks around your neck and adjust the cord so that the picks are high under your chin.
How to get out of the ice:
- Always exit from the same spot where you fell in. Take the picks out of the case.
- Hold the picks with the spikes facing downward against the ice and strike them firmly into the ice.
- Work with the picks close to your body. Use the picks as handles to pull yourself out of the hole.
- Blow the whistle to call for help. Roll or crawl away from the hole before standing up.
After use: Dry the picks and place them back in the case.
Storage and transport: Store the products in a dark, dry place at room temperature. Always transport them in their plastic case.
