Shell pants at this weight category are typically made with what’s called a 2.5-layer construction, which has the disadvantage of poorer abrasion resistance. However, these Lo pants are genuine three-layer pants, meaning the weatherproof membrane is protected on both sides with a laminated fabric layer.
The Lo pants are suitable as rain protection for hiking and day trips, and can also be used as the only pants for fall foliage trips or mild winter hikes.
Three-layer pants provide the best comfort when worn with long underwear.
