Easily available from its tube, the fat is equally suitable for use when cooking as it is for the basic maintenance of cast iron or carbon steel cookware. Packing size: 110 grams Burning the grease on your pan: 1: Clean the pan with hot water, then heat it so it dries 2: Spread a thin, uniform layer of Pork Fat on the pan 3: Heat up the pan on a gas stove, electric grill or on hot embers so that the fat goes dark and dries to the pan, at least in the middle of the pan (this stage will produce smoke, do not do it indoors) 4: Repeat if needed, to make the pan a dark color Cleaning a cast iron or carbon steel pan: Clean after every use, preferably right after finishing cooking Pour some water on the pan (if hot water is available, use it, but cold water will do), let it boil and scrape off residue with a spatula and household tissue Wipe dry and spread a very thin layer of Muurikka Pork fat (or salt-free oil) on top for protection Remember: never use grease-removing chemicals on a cast-iron or steel pan/pot.
