The Nansen shirt gets its name from Fridtjof Nansen, who in 1888 was the first in the world to cross Greenland. Devold was his clothing brand of choice. The Nansen sweater is thick and warm - wool insulates well, even after getting a little damp. Wool also naturally resists the formation of odors. Wear as is in cool weather or a chilly cabin, and as a warm midlayer in cold weather.
